The latest continuing resolution (CR) faced vicious criticism from House conservatives, so it was quickly pulled off the floor for a vote, effectively killing it. Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) posted a brief video to X (formerly Twitter) explaining that federal disaster relief was still arriving, but "the current rendition of this CR was terrible [and] it is going to be rewritten and we will be getting that funding for you guys."

In the clip, Rep. Luna explained that the bill was removed from the floor for a vote because "there was so much backlash, not just in Pinellas County, but across the country, against it."
The Florida Congresswoman initially said she would vote in favor of the CR for disaster relief but retracted after expressing disgust at how much extra spending it approved on top of the aid.
Luna was not alone in sharing the sentiment, as Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL) bitterly joked Tuesday night on X that "Conservative Republicans should start an OnlyFans account considering how often we get screwed… The CR is a bad deal."

As a result, Luna assured her constituents in the video that "we will be getting the funding for [the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)]. We will be getting the funding for Pinellas County and also [the Small Business Administration (SBA)], but it is going to be coming in a different bill."
Moreover, she emphasized that Congress would work well with incoming President-elect Donald Trump and offered assistance to anyone seeking help from FEMA and Pinellas County services.
"But again, the current rendition of this CR was terrible. It is going to be rewritten, and we will be getting that funding for you guys," Luna concluded.
That rewrite must come quickly, as Congress has until Friday, December 20th, to avoid a government shutdown.
