HIALEAH GARDENS, Fla. - Sen. Bryan Avila, R-Hialeah Gardens, and Rep. Tom Fabricio, R-Miami Lakes, recently announced that the Latin Builders Association has endorsed them for reelection.

"I am extremely grateful to the @LBAOrg for their endorsement and support of my re-election campaign to the Florida Senate," Avila said. "I look forward to continuing to propose and support policies that improve the quality of life in our community."

Represented by Avila, Senate District 39 covers part of Miami-Dade County, including Hialeah and Miami Lakes. In 2020, Avila defeated Democratic candidate Ross Hancock in SD 39 by 30 points.

Avila also was endorsed by the South Florida Council of Firefighters on Friday. He is running against Democratic candidate Charles Lewis I in the 2024 general election.

"The South Florida Council of Firefighters (SFCFF), representing the interests of 4,000 firefighters and their respective families, proudly endorses your candidacy to continue serving as State Senator of Florida’s 39th District," South Florida Council of Firefighters President John O'Brien said.

House District 110, represented by Fabrico, also covers part of Miami-Dade County, including Miami Lakes.

Fabrico won the 2022 general election after it was canceled. In 2020, Fabricio defeated Democratic candidate Cindy Polo in HD 110 by eight points.

"Honored to be endorsed by the Latin Builders Association! Together, we’re building a stronger Florida by supporting economic growth, job creation, and robust infrastructure. Proud to advocate for policies that benefit our communities," Fabricio said.

The Latin Builders Association, or LBA, is the largest Hispanic construction association in the United States. Established in 1971, the association represents over 750 companies in the construction industry, including builders, developers, contractors, architects, engineers, lawyers, and real estate agents.

"Tom has consistently advocated for politics that foster economic growth, promote job creation, and enhance Florida's infrastructure - issues that are critical to the success of our industry and the well-being of our communities."

Fabricio also was endorsed by Community Newspapers, an online group of newspapers covering the Miami area.

"Honored to receive the endorsement from Community News Papers for my re-election to represent #FLHouse District 110! I’m committed to serving our community and keeping our future bright. Let’s move #District110 forward," Fabricio said

Miami-Dade County is roughly 70% Hispanic, making it one of the largest populations in the United States. In addition, both areas represented by Avila and Fabricio have Hispanic populations well above the county average.

The SD 39 and HD 110 general election is on Nov. 5.
