President Joe Biden commended the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) killing of Hamas’ leader Yahya Sinwar.

The IDF announced Sinwar’s death following an IDF strike on a number of Hamas terrorists.

President Biden expressed relief and commented Sinwar’s death was “good” for Israel and the US.

“As the leader of the terrorist group Hamas, Sinwar was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Israelis, Palestinians, Americans, and citizens from over 30 countries,” said Biden. “He was the mastermind of the October 7th massacres, rapes, and kidnappings.”

Sinwar’s death is a significant step in Israel’s year-long war against Hamas, premised on ridding  Gaza from the terrorist group.

“Israel has had every right to eliminate the leadership and military structure of Hamas. Hamas is no longer capable of carrying out another October 7,” continued Biden.

Democrat and Republican lawmakers have similarly celebrated Sinwar’s death.

US Representative Debbie Wasserman Shultz (D-FL) claimed Sinwar nefariously “murdered Gazans and used human shields for years” while reaffirming “Israel has the right to defend itself against terrorists like Sinwar who threaten its people with death and destruction.”

Former IDF volunteer US Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) commended the IDF for bringing Sinwar “to justice,” adding the latter “had the blood of innocent Americans and Israelis on his hands.”

US Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), a staunch supporter of Israel’s Middle East counterterrorism operations, similarly supported Israel's elimination of Sinwar.

“Thank God for the brave IDF soldiers who took this evil terrorist out. The United States and the world are safer with this monster dead,” said Scott.

While continuing to fight Hamas in Gaza, Israel has also recently shifted military assets to Northern Israel to diminish Hezbollah’s capacity to inflict harm on Israeli civilians.

Over the last few weeks, Israel has eliminated crucial Hezbollah weapons’ stockpiles and killed senior Hezbollah leaders, including its top leader Hassan Nasrallah.

The US has continued supporting Israel’s military, while demanding humanitarian assistance be promptly delivered to needy Palestinian civilians.
