In a week, President Donald Trump (R) and Vice President Kamala Harris (D) will face on the debate stage for the vote of the people. The Democratic Party enthusiastically supports Vice President Harris, admitting that she has breathed new life into the campaign. However, Republicans aren't too sure that her campaign is as vibrant as it seems. Florida Rep. Byron Donalds (R) is questioning Vice President Harris' ascent, commenting that she "needs to prove herself to America."
The Florida Republican recently shared comments regarding the upcoming election, mentioning that President Trump has already proven himself to the American people. "You know what he is. You know what he's not. You know how he's going to govern. He's already done that." Moreover, Rep. Donalds shared that Americans are familiar with his results in the White House.
"You know what the border's gonna look like. You know what the economy is gonna look like. You know what foreign policy is going to look like. Because he's done that," added Rep. Donalds to the FL Voice.
However, ahead of the president debate, there is discussion regarding the president's temperament during the debate. To this, Rep. Donalds assures that there will be no issues.
"He's gonna be calm. He's gonna be cool. He's gonna be collected. He's gonna go in and say 'this is what I did. I'm gonna do it again, but Kamala Harris, what have you done?'"
In essence, Rep. Donalds sees the upcoming debate as an opportunity for the vice president to "prove herself to America," but he notes that there isn't much to share.
"Where have you been, Kamala Harris? At least for two years you are the most senior government official who is mentally with it. [...] She has to prove it to [independent voters], those people already know who Donald Trump is. [...] All the pressure is on Kamala Harris."
