Former President Donald Trump is claiming his surviving Saturday’s attempt against his life is due to either fateful fortune or divine intervention.

In an exclusive interview with the New York Post (NYP), President Trump underscored his shock at having survived, stating he’s “supposed to be dead.”

According to the NYP, President Trump recognized that a small tilt of his head to either side of its position at the moment he was shot would have ended his life.

Trump continued, alleging it is “by luck or by God, many people are saying it’s by God I’m still here.”

Conservatives are driving the same narrative, with many lawmakers declaring Trump’s remaining alive is God’s doing.

“If you don’t believe that the Hand of the Lord saved him… you are an utter fool,” stated Representative Maria Elvira-Salazar (R-FL) while posting a breakdown of the bullet’s potential life-ending path.

Representative Cory Mills (R-FL), a former Army sniper, alleged the same.

“President Trump is a very big guy…this is a matter of milliseconds and millimeters to determine whether it is an assassination attempt or assassination,” said Mills.

Mills continued, claiming his military experience compels him to believe Trump being alive is the result of “divine intervention” and “God placing his protective hand” over Trump.

Trump himself credited God for permitting him to live another day.

“Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers yesterday, as it was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening,” said Trump. “We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness.”

Trump is set to appear and speak at the Republican National Convention, which runs from July 15-18.
