The Republican National Convention kicked off today at Milwaukee. Republicans are fired up to nominate President Donald Trump (R), some are dismayed at his nomination, but over the next four days, all will listen to the work that lies ahead. At the RNC, Florida Rep. Mike Waltz (R) introduced the Republican Party's Platform, calling on all to support the platform and to support President Trump.
Rep. Waltz, the co-chair of the Platform Committee, called the platform "historic," noting that "it was written with one group of people in mind." In order to address the concerns that "the forgotten men and women of America" are facing today, the platform was approved by President Trump.
"On the strong foundation of this platform, and with President Trump and Republicans at the helm at every level of government, we will overcome every threat facing this nation," the Florida Republican vowed.
"We will close our disastrously open border, we will defend our justice system, we will restore our economy, we will unleash American energy and flood the world with clean, cheap American oil and gas... and most of all we will strengthen our depleted military and make it stronger again," Rep. Waltz affirmed. "This platform, the leadership of President Trump, we will destroy inflation - we're gonna send a cruise missile right into the heart of it - and we will bring back the American Dream."
"No American will be forgotten anymore."
President Trump is expected to formally announce Ohio Senator J.D. Vance (R) as his vice presidential pick around 4:30 P.M. Senator Vance has long been in the running for President Trump's pick, and after weeks of speculation surrounding Florida Senator Marco Rubio's (R) chances of the spot, it appears that Senator Vance has come out on top.
