In September, President Joe Biden declared climate change an "existential threat to humanity" at a press conference held in Vietnam. This concern is so pressing, apparently, that Representative Mike Waltz (R-FL) described during a weekend appearance on Fox and Friends First that the Pentagon prioritizes the environmental friendliness of military equipment over its lethality and effectiveness.

The Florida Congressman called Biden's declaration of climate change being a more significant threat than nuclear war "ridiculous on the face of it, and this is why we are calling this the common sense election," referring to the upcoming November Presidential election.

After all, Rep. Waltz pointed out that former President Donald Trump led many environmentally friendly policies, such as the Trillion Trees Initiative and clean water and air policies through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), while "China is trending in exactly the wrong direction," opening a new coal-fired power plant every week.

Moreover, Rep. Waltz suggested the threat of nuclear war is a much more immediate concern with "Putin and his nuclear saber-rattling."

"You have got Iran marching towards a nuke led by a religious fanatic in the Ayatollah. The Biden Administration is doing nothing about North Korea as [Kim Jong Un] builds multiple nukes and tests [Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles], and we can keep going. I do not think people fully realize that a regional nuclear exchange could literally devastate the world. India and Pakistan, Iran and one of its neighbors, North Korea [and] South Korea. Even though it would be limited, the environmental effects and the atmospheric effects would be devastating," Waltz continued.

Despite this, the Biden Administration has prioritized the environmental friendliness of our military equipment, which Waltz had spoken about before, including efforts to make electric tanks.

"I sat in testimony [with] Biden's Secretary of the Army [Christine Wormuth]. People say this electric tank thing is a joke. It is not; her top goal for the United States Army is not to be the most lethal and the most feared; it is to be carbon neutral by 2030, and that leads to her putting our bases on Chinese-made solar power [and] putting research and development funds into electric tanks. They are very serious, and it is scary," Waltz concluded.
