In perhaps some news that flew under the radar, former President Donald Trump (R) has endorsed Representative Laurel Lee (R-FL) in her reelection effort. President Trump stated that the Florida congresswoman is “working hard” to enable the America First agenda.

“Congresswoman Laurel Lee is an incredible representative for the fantastic people of Florida's 15th Congressional District,” said President Trump. “Laurel is working hard to Secure our Border, Fight Inflation, Defend our Wonderful Military and Veterans, Promote Election Integrity, and Expand American Jobs and the Economy. Laurel Lee has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

Furthermore, Rep. Lee responded by saying that she was “incredibly honored and humbled” to receive the endorsement from the former president.

“I am incredibly honored and humbled to have President Trump’s endorsement,” said Rep. Lee. “When he is elected in November, I vow to work alongside him as an America-first conservative to reverse the policies of the Biden administration, including the crisis at our southern border.”

The fact that Trump endorsed Lee in the first place might come as a shock to some. In March, Trump called on someone to “step forward” and primary Lee. It is believed he did this after she was the only Republican representative from the state of Florida to support Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) for president and not him.

However, before the endorsement was made official, Rep. Lee continuously supported Trump in his endeavors, including coming to his defense after he was found guilty of 34 felony charges in the Stormy Daniels hush money trial.

"Today's verdict was the result of a political witch hunt supported by the very people who are supposed to hold our judicial system to the highest standard. Politically weaponizing our judicial system is not only intolerable, but should be condemned,” said Rep. Lee. “A jury verdict is only as good as the information that was given to the jurors, and as a former judge and prosecutor, I believe the judge in this case wrongfully denied the defendant's motions to provide important evidence the jurors never heard that would have exonerated President Trump. I believe in the judicial system and the appellate process. This fight is not over.”

Rep. Lee is seeking her second term in Congress. She represents Florida’s 15th District.
