Thursday, June 6th, marked the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, France, a pivotal event in World War II. During the commemoration ceremony, President Joe Biden's actions, which some perceived as awkward, sparked a significant online discussion. Representatives Cory Mills (R-FL) and Ronny Jackson (R-TX) shared their views on these instances during a recent appearance on Fox Business's Varney & Co., stating, "he did not seem that he had everything together upstairs."
Host Stuart Varney inquired about the world's perception of President Biden during the D-Day ceremony. Rep. Mills, who had just participated in the parachute jump, shared his firsthand observation, stating, "I think that you and the American people saw the same thing as all of our allies and those presidents. He did not seem that he had everything together upstairs. He seemed like he was lost, he was disoriented, he seemed to have cognitive function issues."
"And not to mention the fact that he left World War II veterans on the stage for almost an hour because he was late to the actual memorial speech, to begin with," Rep. Mills added, underscoring the potential impact of such actions on the veterans and their families.
Thus, the Florida Congressman felt that "we are not bringing our best when it comes to how our allies see us and how we are viewed on the world stage."
Varney noticed Rep. Jackson standing nearby just offscreen and asked him, as a former White House doctor, if he believed Biden should take a cognitive test.
"Absolutely. I mean, that is the standard now. As far as I am concerned, the precedent has been set now. We did one for President Trump during his presidency, and he got a 30 out of 30 on it. And I think there should be the same level of outcry from the media and from those who were demanding tests on President Trump's behalf for President Biden. I mean, for crying out loud, we have somebody that obviously has cognitive issues right now," Rep. Jackson answered.
In February, questions surrounding the President's mental acuity were thrust into the spotlight after Special Counsel Robert Hur declined to charge Biden for his apparent recklessness in keeping classified documents because he is "a well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory."
