House Republicans continue torching the recent decision by the Biden Administration to take executive action on the border crisis, slamming it as both ineffective and something he could have done all along. Among them was Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), who discussed the messaging and narratives surrounding the executive action, which she called "infuriating" and compared to "an abusive relationship with the federal government" in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Cavuto Coast to Coast.

Many Republicans have suggested that Biden's executive action was purely political and designed to shore up flagging poll numbers, which Rep. Luna agreed to, saying, "It has been infuriating to me because I head in off-record conversation that the President knew this was a problem months ago and that they were actually concerned on polling. And so he was considering this back then [and] was actually encouraged by the Speaker of the House of which he still took no action," followed by a reference to the Republican-led H.R. 2 that passed the House last May.

Nevertheless, Rep. Luna added, "What has been even more infuriating is, I think, the propaganda machine messaging behind this. We know that Biden took over 300 executive actions that really undermined our own border security measures. You know that they painted both you and I as racist for supporting border security. And look, we were right all along, we know that it was hurting people. We need to shut the border now, immediately."

Host Neil Cavuto suggested that the new executive action at least does something because H.R. 2 would not have survived the Senate, and Biden would have vetoed it.

Luna countered, "It is really like being in an abusive relationship with the federal government because this is an issue of [Biden's] own creation. We know that their campaign strategy from the get-go was to try to use this to leverage Hispanic voters for the upcoming election cycle. We are now seeing that that has backfired, that every single person in this country is really worried about what is happening with the economy and also the rise of crime in our neighborhoods. And so the fact of the matter is that this administration, they are using this as a voting tool, they created it, and yet they are trying to say that they have the solution when they have been the problem all along."
