The first presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden is this coming Thursday and will air on CNN. Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL), a staunch supporter of Trump, predicted he was entering a hostile environment where "the deck is stacked against him" in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria, adding that he should confront Biden about his son Hunter's laptop.

Host Maria Bartiromo began by underlining the significance of the upcoming debate, speculating on whether CNN would prioritize discussing the border crisis, a topic that has become one of the most pressing issues for voters in 2024.

"I have serious doubts about what CNN is going to do in that debate," said Rep. Gimenez, "CNN has been a huge critic of President Trump [and] has been completely unfair to the President."

Additionally, The Florida Congressman suggested Trump could confront President Biden about fabricating a claim that Hunter Biden's laptop, which contained scandalous images of the First Son, was "Russian disinformation," a claim falsely affirmed by more than 51 intelligence officials.

"The first thing I would do if I were President Trump is, I turn over to President Biden and say, 'Are you going to apologize to the American people for not only lying to them but actually fabricating a lie about your son's laptop? Are you going to do that?' And [then] find out if the President will do that," Rep. Gimenez continued, reiterating the crucial need for transparency and accountability in our political discourse. He emphasized that Biden lied about the laptop on the debate stage before all of America.

"But hey, that is par for the course. President Biden has been lying to the American people for three-and-a-half years," Gimenez cynically remarked, further commending Trump for "going on the debate stage knowing that the deck is stacked against him. But it is going to be difficult for President Trump. He is not going to get a fair shake out of CNN."

The debate will be held on Thursday at 9 PM.
