President Donald Trump (R) appeared in court this morning, and traveling with him was a band of supporters. Last week, Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) attended a court hearing with the president, and he issued words of support right after. President Trump was accompanied to court this morning by Florida Reps. Byron Donalds (R) and Cory Mills (R) among others.
President Trump spoke to reporters this morning over his ongoing legal matters. Behind him, numerous political surrogates were seen leaving the courtroom.
Aside from the aforementioned House members, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R), Vivek Ramaswamy (R), North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum (R), Eric Trump (R), and Lara Trump (R), co-Chair of the Republican National Committee were in attendance.
Speaking to reporters, President Trump commented on such topics as electric vehicles, tariffs President Joe Biden (D) is imposing on China, and the upcoming presidential election.
"In Michigan, the auto industry is doing very poorly because jobs are starting to leave," President Trump said. "The electric vehicle mandate - they're gonna be made in China. They're all gonna be made in China and also in Mexico, owned by China."
President Trump commented on recent New York Times polling, showing him overtaking President Biden in battleground states.
One of the states wherein President Trump is leading President Biden is Michigan.
On the subject of his legal proceedings, President Trump cannot comment because of the gag order that's in place, he did quote a recent post on X from Michael Avenatti, the embattled attorney and nemesis of the president.
"The next time you are accused of something by someone - a co-worker, neighbor, friend, significant other, stranger - ask yourself if it would be ok if only they were allowed to speak/accuse/antagonize while you were not allowed to respond to defend yourself. If your answer is no, then you too should be angered by Trump not being allowed to respond to Cohen's & Daniels' nonsense," President Trump read.
