Many House Republicans have stood firm on the side of Israel since the attacks of October 7th where 1,200 innocent civilians were murdered, bashing the Biden Administration's actions hampering the Jewish State's ability to destroy Hamas. Representative Aaron Bean (R-FL) sat down with The Floridian to discuss the displays of antisemitism on college campuses in recent weeks and bashed the calls from the International Criminal Court (ICC) for the arrests of Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
While Rep. Bean was not familiar with the Doral ceasefire resolution controversy, he did respond to the intended message of such pro-Hamas sentiment being expressed in America by students and agitators by describing his recent visit to Israel and the sites of violence on October 7th.
"I went to Israel to see and study the history of how we got here and to see the ground zero where Hamas was pure evil. Attacked, raped, brutally, savagely- you do not hear the word 'savage,' but they were savages in their brutality against civilization," said Rep. Bean, further describing how he met with the families of victims and hostages and learned of the horrors they experienced.
"Who does that? [Hamas] knew exactly [what they were doing]," the Florida Congressman continued. "So to see that, and to see the response where Hamas says 'we will do it again and we will do it again,' you have to go and remove the threat. It is so close. It would be the equivalent of- we are here [Bean's office], but Hamas is where the Washington Monument is; it is within a mile; you can see it right there. So why not? You have to empower our ally, Israel, to go remove the threat."
Bean also affirmed the sentiment that may lawmakers, citizens feel about tolerating a similar style of attack on U.S. soil.
"We would not put up with it; we would not tolerate anybody that is going to rape and kill and murder us and say to do it again. So fast forward, Hamas has done really well [with] the PR campaign of converting minds and trying to plant a different type of people that feel sorry for Hamas," adde Bean
When asked about the International Criminal Court's (ICC) arrest warrants for Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Bean dismissed the ICC as lacking understanding and having "also been infiltrated by Hamas to sway public opinion against Israel."
"Israel is just doing what we would do: defending ourselves, defending civilization. We have to stand with them, and hopefully, we will stand with them. It is such a shame that in their moment of need, the United States- Joe Biden, not the United States, has been waffling on giving them the materials they need to not only defend themselves but to clean house." concluded Bean.
