Waltz Tells Biden to 'Save the Righteous Indignation' Over Accidental Israel Drone Strike

Share

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) mistakenly killed seven World Central Kitchen workers in their war with Hamas recently, which earned condemnation from President Biden and calls for a ceasefire. During a recent appearance on Fox Business's Varney & Co., Representative Mike Waltz (R-FL) said while tragic, the IDF does not deliberately target civilians, and the Biden Administration has made its accidental strikes and as a result, it should "save the righteous indignation."

Being a former Green Beret himself, Rep. Waltz had ordered drone strikes before and reiterated that "this was a major screwup on the part of the IDF." More to the point, this is a stark difference compared to Hamas and its conduct, "which is [to] deliberately target civilians and target aid workers that are not cooperating with them."

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have spoken of Hamas's deliberate targeting of civilians and intentional hiding among them, including Representatives Jared Moskowitz (D-FL), Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), and Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL).

Moreover, Rep. Waltz pointed out that the Biden Administration mistakenly killed ten civilians, including seven children, in a botched drone strike in Kabul, Afghanistan, near the time of the disastrous withdrawal in August 2021.

As a result, Waltz said President Biden should "save the righteous indignation that he is directing at [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu because that is all about politics. Not about what is clearly an accident."

The Florida Congressman previously accused the Biden Administration of making the Israel-Hamas "a political pig" it was trying to put lipstick on by reprimanding the Israeli government's conduct and attempts to provide aid to the people of Gaza in a bid to retain Muslim voters in Michigan. During the February primary, over 100,000 voters voted "uncommitted" rather than for Biden as a form of protest.

"The Biden Administration is in full panic mode when you have 100,00 Michigan voters in the dead of winter that after work make a point to go to the polls to vote uncommitted? That has them in full panic mode, and everything they are doing right now is about politics, not supporting our allies," Waltz previously assessed.
