Progressives, Republicans Continue to Line Up to Defeat Wasserman Schultz

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) is without question one of Florida’s most outspoken and controversial federal lawmakers,  and not only is she respected amongst both Republicans and Democrats in Washington, but her constituents continue to reelect her every two years even as more progressive primary opponents and potential Republican general election challengers keep popping up in hopes to unseat her.

The 2024 presidential election cycle is not any different as Progressive Democrat Jen Perelman is once again challenging Rep. Wasserman Schultz in the Democratic primary election that will be held on August 20.

Perelman, who ran and lost to Rep. Wasserman Schultz during the 2020 presidential primary election by a 44% margin, appears to have already sunk her campaign by referring to Israel as a “genocidal”  state.

After the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack that killed some 1,200 Israelis, the overwhelming majority of Americans coalesced to support Israel after the unprecedented attack.

Now that Israel continues to carry out military operations aimed at annihilating Hamas and its networks within both the West Bank and Gaza Strip, individuals like Perleman are using catchy pro-Hamas, anti-Israel rhetoric to condemn Israel’s military operations.

Like Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D), Perelman is calling Israeli military actions “genocidal”

Netanyahu openly discussing Israel’s $19 billion “redevelopment” project for Gaza. This is who my opponent, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, is closely aligned with. The citizens of FL-25 deserve a representative who isn’t aligned with genocidal colonialism,” stated Perelman

Perleman statement will not sit well with the large Jewish-American community that resides within Wasserman Schultz’s congressional district.

Wasserman Schultz recently condemned Rep. Tlaib for defending the controversial “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” chant.

In response to a social media posting by Rep. Tlaib, where the controversial House “Squad” member says the phrase is nothing more than a “aspirational call for freedom, human rights, and peaceful coexistence,” and not “death, destruction, or hate,” Rep. Wasserman Schultz accused Rep. Tlaib taking part of a “PR” stunt by anti-Israel, anti-Jewish protestors of  “dressing” up the call to arms.

“This phrase means eradicating Israel and Jews. Period. Dressing it up in a new PR ploy won’t change that. Only a return of hostages, eliminating Hamas, and liberating Gaza from oppressive terror will save civilian lives and secure the peace, justice and dignity you seek,” stated Rep. Wasserman Schultz.

While Democrats will with vote to reelected Wasserman Schultz or  vote in new blood like Perelman, Republicans will vote for who they feel represent their interests. and have the best shot at beating “DWS” in the general election.

Retired Air Force General Chris Eddy has already planted his flag into the ground and now Bryan Lieb is expected to announce he will be entering the Republican congressional primary race.

Lieb could make an interesting run against Wasserman Schultz considering his deep roots with the America First  agenda that former President Donald Trump is running for President on.

In addition, Liebe is  Jewish and could pose a real threat to Wasserman Schultz within the Jewish-American community.

Again, Leib, who appears to be setting the narrative that he is a better friend to Israel and the Jewish community than Waserman Schultz,  will have to first defeat Eddy before he can take on Wasserman Schultz.
