Veteran Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) Executive Director Helen Aguirre Ferrer, a close friend and ally of Gov. Ron DeSanis, is stepping down from her position within the state political party.
According to a statement furnished to The Floridian, Ferrer will be replaced by Republican political operative William "Bill Helmich."

Florida Republican political veteran William “Bill” Helmich has been named Interim Executive Director of the Republican Party of Florida. Bill began his political career with the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) in 1997 and grew in leadership positions including Chief of Staff for the Florida House Majority Office for the 2003 - 2004 legislative sessions and was the Director of House Campaigns for the 2006 election cycle. Bill Helmich is the founder of the legislative consulting firm, Helmich Consulting, Inc., graduated from Norwich University, The Military College of Vermont and served for six years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Currently, Bill Helmich is the Republican State Committeeman for Madison County, Florida where he resides with his wife.
