Rubio Reaffirms That 'Marxism Always Fail'

Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) has shared his support for the protests in Cuba. As the Cuban people take to the streets to protest the Castro regime, lawmakers in the United States are standing in solidarity. As a vocal critic of the Castro regime, Senator Rubio is championing the protests, arguing that “Marxism always fails.”

The protests in Cuba this week are reminiscent of the protests seen in 2021, which aimed to bring awareness to the struggle of the Cuban people. First Secretary Miguel Diaz-Canel has responded to the protests, questioning why the protests have been heavily covered by the media if protests in the U.S. are much more violent.

In speaking to NBC News, First Secretary Diaz-Canel commented that there were “two or three events of protests that were fundamentally peaceful, and virtually set up a scenario to look like serious events were happening here… in the world, there are protests like these, more severe than these, and those in the United States of this type are also violently repressed, like others in other countries in Latin American and the world, however, those in Cuba make headlines, why? Because there is an entire perversity when it comes to dealing with the Cuban problem, but we are very serene, very calm, and nobody will stop us in the advancement of our projects.”

Commenting on the protests, Senator Rubio admitted that “the protests in Cuba this week are not surprising.”

“It’s a country that’s near collapse, and it’s not because of the U.S. embargo that they lie about. The embargo doesn’t apply to food. They imported over $300 million last year of U.S. food. The reason why Cuba is on the verge of collapse is the same as it’s always been because Marxism always fails. It always leads to poverty and suffering and hunger because the people who run that regime are incompetent.”
