Rubio Calls Biden's SOTU Address 'Strange' and 'Bizarre'

President Joe Biden (D) wasted no time in confronting Republicans on a number of issues in his State of the Union (SOTU) Address, but Republicans are quickly calling into question the president's strategy. From being late to making questionable remarks, Republicans are warning that this could result in him being a one-term president. In response to President Biden's SOTU Address, Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) was left scratching his head, calling it "strange" and "bizarre."

In his address, the president discussed a number of topics, including abortion rights, the southern border, the economy, and he even directed verbal swipes at both Republicans and the Supreme Court. However, while Democrats praised the president at the conclusion of his address, Republicans have responded in a much different way.

During an interview with Sean Hannity after the address, Senator Rubio simply said that "the whole thing was weird."

"Going into tonight, there were people in his own party that are really worried about him. Does he have the energy? Is he too old? Does he have the physical and mental stamina? So, I think they told him 'you gotta go in there, and you gotta show energy, and to him, that meant 'let me scream,'" Senator Rubio assessed.

He went on to say that "there were parts of it that were bizarre and insulting," citing that the president was lecturing Americans, telling them that, for example, "the economy is doing much better than you think it's doing." "He's describing a country that is not the experience that people are having today," he clarified.

In his speech, President Biden mentioned that the United States would be building a port in Gaza, and the Florida Senator called it "flat out strange."

"The idea that you're going to somehow build a port and not have American service men in the line of fire with the Houthis firing rockets over your head, with Hamas just off the coast... is absurd. You're putting people in danger's way."

Ultimately, Senator Rubio says that the address "achieved the 'proof of life,'" but he doesn't feel that if "this is what he's going to campaign on, then he's gonna lose by eight or nine points. It's just literally nonsensical, bizarre, hallucinations, completely out of touch with reality, but I imagine partisans are very happy because he looked like he could scream tough things."
