This week, Hunter Biden testified in front of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability in a closed-door meeting. Democrats have pushed back against the effort while Republicans continue to pursue their impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden (D). The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability has now released the transcripts of the Hunter Biden hearing.
Aside from releasing the transcripts for the public to read in its entirety, the House Committee on oversight and Accountability's X account shared excerpts from the hearing, providing commentary on some of the responses that Hunter Biden shared.
Biden affirmed that he received money from a Chinese company, although he did not clarify on what the company was or how much money he received. He also said that the money he received "was all completely legal." Subsequently, the committee shared that "Hunter Biden admitted he traveled with then-Vice President Biden on Air Force Two to Beijing where he then introduced his father to his business partner, Jonathan Li. Then-Vice President Biden later went on to write a college letter of recommendation for Li’s son."
Jonathan Li, who is the CEO of a state-backed investment firm, is then alleged to have "wired $250,000 to Hunter Biden as a 'loan' that Hunter Biden never repaid. Instead, Dem Donor Kevin Morris took on the debt for Hunter."
During the hearing, Hunter Biden also admitted that CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming, an individual who has connections to the Communist Chinese Party, gave him a diamond ring. This ring, Biden said, he gave to his uncle.
In a series of social media posts, the Oversight committee shared instances of then-Vice President Biden possibly being involved in foreign business deals through his son.

The Oversight committee concluded that “Hunter Biden’s testimony confirms much of the evidence uncovered to date in our impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden. However, parts of his testimony are inconsistent with other witnesses’ testimonies. It’s clear we need a public hearing to get the truth for the American people.”
