Florida Legislators Rally Around Israel as Scott Meets with Netanyahu

Share

Floridian lawmakers continue to demonstrate their unrelenting support for Israel as relations between the Jewish state and President Joe Biden’s administration dwindle.

Last week, President Biden allowed the United Nations Security council to approve a ceasefire resolution failing to condemn Hamas.

Biden’s administration has also sanctioned certain Israeli individuals and companies and warned of additional “consequences” if Israel executes their planned invasion of Rafah.

The Israelis sanctioned were allegedly making “threats of violence against civilians, intimidating civilians to cause them to leave their homes, destroying or seizing property, or engaging in terrorist activity in the West Bank.”

The Biden administration has justified its threats of additional retaliatory measures against Israel’s invasion of Rafah by claiming the operation amounts to a death sentence for civilian refugees.

Sundry conservative legislators have opposed Biden’s handling of US-Israel relations and denounced his decisions, claiming they undermine Israel’s war efforts against Hamas terrorists.

US Representative Mike Waltz (R-FL) accused the Biden Administration of making the war with Hamas 'a political pig' to appease Muslim voters in Michigan and Minnesota.

US Representative Maria Elvira-Salazar (R-FL) pledged her unwavering support for Israel, stating she “will always stand with our greatest ally in the Middle East, the Jewish State of Israel”

Additionally, US Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) urged Biden change step and augment his support of Israel.

Senator Scott recently met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who thanked the former for “his unwavering support for the State of Israel.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu expressed discontent with Biden’s UN Security Council decision, describing it as a “very bad move.”

“The worst part about it was that it encouraged Hamas to take a hard line and to believe that international pressure will prevent Israel from freeing the hostages and destroying Hamas,” claimed Netanyahu.

Following the UN resolution’s passage, Netanyahu canceled plans for an Israeli diplomatic delegation visit to the US to explain how the Rafah invasion was to be executed

Netanyahu explained his decision was intended to send “a message to Hamas: Don't bet on this pressure, it's not going to work.”
