President Joe Biden (D) has been struck with low polling numbers, and as President Donald Trump's (R) popularity soars, the incumbent has amped up his attacks on his Republican challenger. In his latest bid, the incumbent shared some words about President Trump in a star-studded New York City fundraiser. Commenting on the threat of President Trump, President Biden argued that he's "old and out of shape."
In a fundraising effort that brought in over $26 million, President Biden was joined on stage by President Barack Obama (D) and President Bill Clinton (D). Celebrities that were at the event also included Mindy Kaling, Queen Latifah, and Lizzo, and it was hosted by Stephen Colbert.
At the event, the three presidents discussed the Biden administration, commenting on successes under President Biden while also highlighting concerns of President Trump entering the White House.
When questioned about his Republican challenger, President Biden commented that "we're at a real inflection point in history. This guy denies global warming. This guy wants to get rid of not only Roe v. Wade which he brags about having done. He wants to get rid of the ability of anyone in America to have the right to choose."
Access to abortions has become a growing concern in the country for voters, and it's an issue that President Biden and Democrats have campaigned on, drawing a distinction between their legislative pursuits and the actions of Republicans on the issue.
"All the things he's doing, they're so old. A little old and out of shape," President Biden concluded in reference to President Trump.
The same day of the fundraising event, President Trump attended the wake of Officer Jonathan Diller, an officer who was killed in the line of duty. He called on "law and order" as his campaign has stated that President Biden and Democrats have been "soft on crime."
Steven Cheung, a Trump campaign spokesperson, commented on social media that “meanwhile, the Three Stooges — Biden, Obama, and Clinton — will be at a glitzy fundraiser in the city with their elitist, out-of-touch celebrity benefactors.”
President Trump will be honoring the legacy of Officer Diller and paying respects to his family, friends, and the NYPD.
