As the 2024 legislative session in Tallahassee ends on March 8, lawmakers are thinking of their next political move, with most running for reelection and some also looking to involve themselves in other races. Rep. Mike Caruso has just supported pro-family, pro-farming philanthropist Meg Weinberger in the Republican primary race in Florida's 94th House District.

“I am endorsing Meg Weinberger for HD 94. Meg is a well-known philanthropist in Palm Beach County. Her involvement in education and animal rights shows that she has a servant’s heart. Her viewpoint will be an asset to the Florida House and I look forward to working with her on legislation that will benefit all Floridians,” said Rep. Caruso.

Weinberger, who has a close working relationship with a Place for Hope—,an organization that helps abused and neglected children— and rescues and houses exotic and domestic animals in distress, expressed her gratitude towards Caruso after the endorsement.

“I am deeply humbled and honored to receive the support of Rep. Caruso in my race to represent the citizens of House District 94. I look forward to working with Rep. Caruso and four Republican Legislature to advance the “Florida First” agenda that has resulted in so many wins for the families of our great state,” Weinberger.

In speaking to state lawmakers, The Floridian has also learned that more state legislatures are eyeing Weinberger's candidacy and could be coming out in support of her in the coming weeks, or months.

According to the latest fundraising totals compiled by the Florida Department of Elections, Weinberger leads a field of Republican primary opponents with $174, 685 campaign dollars raised. Weinberger's closest opponent, Anthony Aguirre, follows with a distant $82,125 raised.

House Seat 94 is considered a very safe, farm-friendly Republican district.

In addition to Weinberger and Aguirre, Republicans Jon Carter, Christian Acosta, and Gabrielle Fox, and Democrat Rachelle Litt, have also registered to run for this state house seat.
