Rep. Alina Garcia Will Not Seek Reelection to Florida House

Share

Florida Rep. Alina Garcia (R) has decided to not seek reelection to the Florida House of Representatives in the 2024 presidential election cycle, and will instead run for Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Election.

In an exclusive interview with The Floridian, Rep. Garcia expressed her gratitude to the voters of House District 115 for allowing her to serve and to Governor Ron DeSantis, Speaker Paul Renner, and the Republican-led legislature for being steadfast partners in addressing the needs of Floridians.

Rep. Garcia is a seasoned veteran of the Florida and Miami-Dade County political process and now looks to use her 30 years of political and elections experience to “instill a much-needed climate of integrity and transparency” to the county.

Rep. Garcia issued the following statement to The Floridian:

“After careful consideration and speaking to my family, I have decided not to run for reelection to the Florida House of Representatives in District 115 in the 2024 election cycle.

During my time in the Florida Legislature, I have had the privilege and honor to work alongside Governor Ron DeSantis, Speaker Renner and many family-oriented lawmakers to promote and vote to pass important legislation that has improved the lives of all Floridians.

My fight to preserve our American way of life will continue.

I will be running for the new elected position of Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections to instill a much-needed climate of integrity and transparency that all the residents of Miami-Dade expect and deserve whenever they go to cast their vote on election day."

This is a developing story.
