Mast Agrees With Putin's Characterization of President Biden as 'Predictable'

Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) appeared on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America” program on Sunday to discuss the foreign policy strategies of President Joe Biden (D) and his administration.

The program hosts mentioned the developing story concerning Russia’s stated efforts to put a nuclear weapon in space.

When asked about this possibility and the Biden administration’s ability to navigate it, Rep. Mast called it “concerning.”

“It’s a concerning threat. And it’s concerning most of all because you have a White House that has a train of thought … where they look at these things, and they don’t really consider them threats until they’re political threats,” said Rep. Mast. “That’s what they pay most attention to, is a political problem, a political threat, not the real national security.”

Rep. Mast continued by naming a plethora of issues he thinks the Biden administration continues to degrade or neglect.

“They’ll mock the Space Force, they’ll make the military woke. They won’t care about debt and deficit, they’ll ignore the southern border. The list goes on and on. Unless it’s political, it doesn’t matter to them. That’s the threat in this to the American people.

“We can always defend against these things. We have a more powerful Space Force than they do. We can do things to address this. But this administration, this Joe Biden does not do that,” said the Florida congressman.

Mast was then asked about Russian President Vladimir Putin stating that he would prefer a second Biden term as he is “more experienced and predictable.”

The U.S. House representative from the Sunshine State agreed with Putin’s characterization of the President.

“Joe Biden is a book that you can open up, any foreign intelligence agency can open up, read it. The writing is really big for his book and there’s probably a lot of pictures in his book, and there’s nothing that it takes for foreign intelligence to assess what it is that he wants to do,” said Mast.

He would go on to praise the unpredictability of former President Donald Trump (R) and his ability to “bluff” when necessary.

“For Donald Trump, whether it was domestic policy or foreign policy, no foreign adversary knew whether he was bluffing or whether he was serious whether he was going to do what he said or not. They could not gauge his moves. That was the most powerful thing that we could do on foreign policy,” said Mast.

The Florida congressman represents Florida’s 21st District.
