House Republicans gear up to hold the first impeachment hearing for Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) appeared on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria to discuss ahead of the hearing, saying this second impeachment attempt will be more successful than the previous one and reiterated that the Biden Administration and Mayorkas are allowing the border crisis to happen on purpose.

During the first hearing with the Homeland Security Committee, however, Rep. Gimenez said, "I expect that the Democrats on our committee are going to try and stall or try some legislative procedures in order to throw us off track, but I think we are pretty laser-focused on what we want to do. We want to hear the testimony. We want to give Mayorkas a fair shot, and then we need to move on."

Host Maria Bartiromo asked if House Republicans are more united in impeaching Mayorkas this time, as eight Republicans voted against his removal in November.

Rep. Gimenez answered that the vote would be more unified this time since "you cannot just have an impeachment of an individual without giving him due process, and now we are giving him the due process that every American deserves. And so we are going to have the hearings, going to hear the testimony, and then we are going to take a vote. And I am pretty sure that the vote coming out of our committee is going to be, 'yeah, this gentleman needs to be impeached."

As to what happened next, he predicted Mayorkas would be found guilty in a House floor vote, and from there, it would go to the Senate.

"Look, I believe, and I have said it all along, that this is on purpose. They are violating the law every single day. You know, parole in the United States is supposed to be done on a case-by-case basis, you are not supposed to have mass parole like the Biden Administration and Mr. Mayorkas have done since the beginning of the administration," Gimenez continued, repeating a previous assertion made in December.

Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL) recently came to the same conclusion of the border crisis's intentionality when she supposedly warned Mayorkas of the forthcoming impeachment, to which he only responded, "You are not going to like who comes next," with a smile.
