Haley Says Trump Could’ve Prevented January 6th

Share

Ambassador Nikki Haley (R) is calling out President Donald Trump (R), arguing that he could’ve done more to prevent January 6th. The once friends turned political rivals are now vying for the Republican presidential nomination, but President Trump still maintains a commanding lead.

During an interview with ABC’s “This Week,” Ambassador Haley commented that “January 6th was a terrible day, and I think that the tone at the top matters.”

“When President Trump had the opportunity to stop it, when he had the opportunity to say – the bully pulpit matters, people listen – he didn’t,” Ambassador Haley further commented.

“I hate that for the people who were there supporting him. I hate that for those of us that were watching it.”

Ambassador Haley has quickly gained support in the Republican race for the nomination. Although Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) was once viewed as the candidate that could defeat President Trump, politicians and pundits are quickly shifting gears and throwing their support behind Ambassador Haley.

New Hampshire Governor John Sununu (R) is the latest Republican to endorse Ambassador Haley. In response to the endorsement, Ambassador Haley noted that “it doesn’t get any better than this.”

Ambassador Haley also took to social media to comment on the surge of support that she’s received in New Hampshire, citing President Trump’s comments of disregarding the surge.

“Two days ago, Donald Trump denied our surge in New Hampshire existed,” she wrote, adding that “now, he’s running a negative ad against me.”

“Someone’s getting nervous,” she concluded.

Although President Trump is still the frontrunner in the Republican primary, polling high against not only his Republican challengers but also President Joe Biden (D), Ambassador Haley has found herself the subject of criticism in recent debates, which has seen growing tension between her and Vivek Ramaswamy (R).

In her interview with “This Week,” Ambassador Haley stated that President Trump “was the right president at the time.” However, with the upcoming 2024 election, she now says that voters do not want Trump’s “chaos again.”
