Miami-Dade Mayor Cava Encourages Investors Move to South Florida

Coral Gables, Fl- Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava encouraged investment into Miami and the South Florida region during her keynote address at the World Strategic Forum.

“We are ready for the new economy,” said Mayor Cava during her remarks in front of over 750 Chief Executive Officers and hundreds of company officials.

Her statements come during the 12th annual World Strategic Forum hosted by the International Economic Forum of the Americas and cosponsored by FIU’s Adam Smith Center for Economic Freedom.

Cava touted Miami outpacing of the national economy, 320 companies transferring operations to South Florida and over twenty thousand new jobs being created in the past year alone. The Dade-County Mayor claimed part of her successes come from efforts to deregulate and help small businesses.

Cava also bragged about creating the Miami Dade Innovation Authority to bolster tech innovation, and exhorted the investors present to “build here and invest here!”

Also present was Tennessee Senator Bill Hagerty, who spoke at length about the global economic state of affairs, with a special focus on Iran, China, and Russia.

Senator Hagerty publicly chided President Joe Biden’s foreign strategy vis-a-vis China, Russia, and Iran, claiming the administration was seeking to appease rather than confront our enemies.

Haggerty called for applying “maximum pressure” on Iran by compelling our allies to also adopt crippling sanctions on hostile governments to prevent them from skirting unilateral sanctions.

Haggerty also suggested the US cut off Gaza from all aid and redirect it towards supporting Israel. Senators Rick Scott (R-Fl) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) recently filed a bill that would move towards this end, gutting aid coming from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Scott ad Cruz’s bill, the IMF Accountability Act, would prevent US IMF reps from authorizing the IMF from allocating Special Drawing Rights (SDR) or providing increased lending to American adversaries.

Senator Scott stated on X that as “Hamas terrorists hold hostages & attack Israel, we must send a clear message to its Iranian backer: the free ride is over, you're cut off.”
