Waltz Warns Iran Is Still Threat Even if Hamas Destroyed

Share

Should Israel successfully destroy Hamas in its war, Iran would still be a threat thanks to the Biden Administration's negotiations with the regime there. This was the major warning Representative Mike Waltz (R-FL) issued during a recent appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria, adding that Iran could very well fund a terrorist attack within the United States through the southern border.

Host Maria Bartiromo began by speaking about recent attacks carried out by Iranian proxies against American forces in the Middle East, which Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed on CBS's Face the Nation, saying they will "respond decisively" to them while seeking to avoid conflict with Iran.

Rep. Waltz responded that the Biden Administration must make "a 180-degree turn" in their policy against the Islamic Republic. "That is the head of the snake. And even if Israel is successful in Gaza in taking down Hamas as an operational threat at its border, it will be all for naught if Iran is still flush with cash to rearm, reinvigorate, and still continue to support its proxies. Iran will trade Arab militia lives for Israeli and American lives," said Rep. Waltz.

Due to his response, Bartiromo asked Rep. Waltz if he was worried about "copycat" attacks in the United States, as the Daily Caller reported Border Patrol intelligence found evidence of Hamas and Hezbollah crossing the southern border. Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) have previously warned that a terrorist attack carried out by a border crosser was likely.

Waltz agreed it was possible, citing previous instances that occurred in the past, as the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) collaborated with the Mexican cartels in 2011 for funneling agents across the border to attack Washington DC locations. Additionally, more operatives were arrested and tried in New York for spying on critical infrastructure in 2019.

"So we know this is part of their playbook," said Waltz, "Should there be any type of conflict? Should we pressure them too hard that they will unleash their operatives in the United States?"

As a result, Waltz demanded the Biden Administration cut off Iran's oil, which can be done by drilling our own. "Not only would that dry up Iran's war funding," he continued, "It would dry up Russia's, too. We are working against ourselves because of this failed energy policy from this administration."

"So it is all politics," answered Bartiromo.
