The ongoing fight to elect a Speaker among House Republicans while the world seemingly burns is making voters angry. Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) made a lengthy appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria, where this became a topic of discussion, warning the perception of Republicans as inept could cost them in the 2024 Elections.

Host Maria Bartiromo began by saying even though viewers are going to agree that President Biden is weak, especially in foreign policy, viewers are equally frustrated with House Republicans for being unable to decide on a new House Speaker after "you threw out Kevin McCarthy for we do not even know why."

Rep. Steube replied, "I did not vote for that," and criticized the eight Republicans led by Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) who voted to remove McCarthy with the entirety of the Democrats without a backup plan.

"And so we are now in the current situation that we are in, and you do not have to tell me [about how voters feel]. All I have to do is look at all the phone calls I am getting in my DC office and in my district office of us trying to get our act together," said Rep. Steube.

Additionally, he described a recent conference meeting as full of "yelling, and screaming, and fighting with one another," saying, "It is time for us to come together right now that [Representative] Jim Jordan (R-OH) has been nominated, he is our Speaker-designate. I call on all the members to stand behind him so we can get beyond this and move forward with the things that we need to do to protect our country."

Bartiromo then played a portion of Rep. Jordan's press conference, where he said, "We have important work to do" concerning the appropriations bills, Israel, and the House Oversight's impeachment inquiry into President Biden. She then said, "Did Matt Gaetz and his colleagues just blow your chances of taking the majority in the Senate and perhaps even taking the White House in 2024?" referencing how the Speaker debacle prevents the Republicans from looking good compared to Biden and the Democrats.

"I certainly think they did not think through all the repercussions of what would happen right afterward," Steube answered, "they were praised by and raised a bunch of money from the right side of the Party, and then suddenly now, that same group of people, the conservatives in our Party, are very frustrated and upset that we cannot get our work done. So yes, I think it puts us at risk as we go into the Presidential elections. I think you are going to see a lot of Republicans who are very frustrated and similar to the calls I am getting, "Why are we supporting you if you guys cannot even get your act together?" The Democrats always stick together. We are not sticking together. It is time for us to get together, elect Jim Jordan as Speaker, and move forward with our country," Steube concluded.
