Yesterday, The Floridian first reportec that Representative Cory Mills (R-FL) traveled to Israel to help Americans evacuate as the IDF retaliates against Hamas. Rep. Mills later appeared on Fox News's Ingraham Angle, describing the situation and blasting the Biden Administration's slowness in rescuing the Americans in Israel, saying, "If I have to come over here and do Biden's job, then so be it."
Rep. Mills spoke of how Americans in Israel attempted to contact the State Department "were getting nowhere" and "were really kind of on their own." As a result, Rep. Mills said he "just kind of made the decision that I needed to do something."
Having aided a family trapped in Afghanistan during the disastrous withdrawal in 2021, Mills has sought to avoid a similar situation by running evacuation routes ahead of escorting the Americans along them, then "looking to try and get into bordering countries like Jordan to ensure that we can get them back to America."
Moreover, while Mills said the American embassy in Jordan has been "tremendously helpful," the people he has rescued have been unable to contact the State Department, whom he blasted as "playing everything on a hope and a prayer and no real strategy."
Mills directed further criticism at the Biden Administration as a whole, saying he blames them for the situation by unfreezing $6 billion in Iranian assets, which they likely funneled towards Hamas.
"We are literally funding the very terrorism that is hitting our allies and endangering Americans, as well as leaving billions of dollars in Afghanistan that is now finding its way into these warzones to be utilized against Americans," Mills continued, repeating a familiar line of "weakness invites aggression."
Because of this weakness, said Mills, America's adversaries "are preying on this weakness in the White House, their priorities on wokeness as opposed to freedoms and safeties of Americans."
"And I can tell you right now, as an elected official, I am not going to stand for it. And if I have to come over here and do Biden's job, then so be it," Mills concluded.
