Recently, pro-Palestine protestors filled the Capitol building, demanding Israel stop its war with Hamas. Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) spoke with Dagen McDowell and Sean Duffy on Fox News' Bottom Line on the event, condemning the protestors for supporting "Arab Nazis" and saying the Palestinian flag was no different from a swastika flag.
Rep. Mast began by referencing the arrest of approximately 300 protestors while Capitol Police are "trying to shuttle these protestors out of there into different areas." However, he has little expectation any of them will face prosecution for anything beyond minor vandalism, while January 6th protestors have been held indefinitely without trial.
"I just do not see there being a huge push, given what I have seen here on the Hill for that to happen," said Rep. Mast.
Additionally, host Sean Duffy brought attention to the viciously antisemitic letter by multiple Harvard student groups expressing solidarity with Palestine and accusing Israel of committing genocide. Mast and several other Republican Harvard alumni demanded the Harvard administration denounce the letter. However, Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD), also a Harvard grad, demanded they condemn January 6th as well.
Mast had some choice words for Rep. Raskin in response, "Free speech says you can go out there and you can say what you want. But do not think that there are no consequences for the things that you say, and there should be for those at Harvard as well. If you are going to be willfully ignorant, support Arab Nazis, make light of what they did, and make an excuse for why they might have done something, guess what? There are consequences for those individuals."
Host Dagen McDowell expressed further incredulity at how Harvard students could express such "pro-terrorist statements," especially when so many end up in government positions after graduating, which only furthers the cycle of former students indoctrinating the new ones, which she called "top-down and circular."
"That black, red, white, and green flag that they are draping themselves in, that Palestinian flag," Mast continued, "should be looked at no differently than a flag with a swastika on it. It is an Arab Nazi flag. That is what it represents in its ideology. And yes, I think you picked the exact right word: top-down and circular because they are making how you identify or not identify the merit for them. And they are trying to take that and they are circling that into all places of government as well, whether it is the people that they make as secretaries or deputy administrators or whatever of any government agency, make sure they are in key places in government so that they can continue on that ideology," Mast concluded.
