After the horrible terrorist attacks on Israel committed by Hamas which saw nearly 1,000 Israelis – mostly civilians – slaughtered and thousands wounded, Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) is calling for his bipartisan legislation, The Hamas International Financing Prevention Act to be passed.

The bill would force the United States to sanction financial backers of Hamas.

Rep. Mast, who served in the U.S. Army and volunteered for the Israeli Defense Force, believes that “the United States must continue to unequivocally stand with our ally.”

In a blog post on his congressional website, Rep. Mast wrote, “I don’t say this lightly: this is Israel’s 9/11.”

“On a peaceful Shabbat morning in Israel, despicable Hamas terrorists launched a full-scale attack on Israel to kill, capture and rape as many people as possible. These barbarians went house after house, kibbutz after kibbutz brutally murdering thousands of people, including more than a dozen Americans. To add insult to injury, they recorded the torture and murder of innocent Jews of every age and posted them online,” Mast said.

He would continue, “At this critical point of Israeli history, the United States must continue to unequivocally stand with our ally. Even as the left-wing media and groups throughout the U.S. try to shift the narrative to victim-blame Israel and justify the acts of terrorists murdering babies and Holocaust survivors, the United States can’t flinch in our support.”

The Florida congressman would go on to push for his bill to become law, sanctioning those who give their funds to the terrorist group currently attempting to wreak havoc in Israel and around the world.

“As the only Member of Congress who has worn the uniform of both the U.S. Army and the Israeli Defense Forces, I will continue on that fight in Congress.  It is past time for my bipartisan bill, the Hamas International Financing Prevention Act, to be law so that the United States would sanction any and all financial backers of Hamas.  Any person, group, or government who supports Hamas is complicit, and our nation must NEVER reward them with aid or access to our economy,” concluded Mast.

This is a developing story.
