Congressional candidate Andrew Gutmann has a feel-good story that will make conservatives swoon.  More importantly, he has a reason for running that appeals to parents of all stripes.  An expert on economics, Gutmann is an economics graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a further MBA from Columbia Business School.  He worked for the Federal Reserve for 10 years and is an accomplished author, teacher, and advisor.

For the great majority of his adult life, business was his life, but that all changed in 2020.  His daughter had been enrolled in the world-class prep school The Brearley School in New York, and Andrew became aware of the school’s decision to embed critical race theory and woke indoctrination a part of its academic mission.  Andrew wrote a letter to the parents of the school, making the case that the school had changed its focus from education to creating a new generation of progressive activists.

That letter was read on national news by Tucker Carlson, paving the way for the parent’s movement.  The letter went viral, and the rest is history.  Andrew became a de facto leader of the effort to take back America’s K-12 schools from the left, and in the spring of this year, he launched his Congressional campaign to take on Lois Frankel, one of the strongest defenders of the liberal education establishment.

Many have told Gutmann that Frankel is unbeatable and the district a mountain too high.  But that may all be changing.  The district is contained entirely within Palm Beach County.  Ron DeSantis won Palm Beach County in 2022, and the registration trend is beginning to favor an upset.  In 2022, 42% of the District was Democrat, 27% Republican, and 30% Non-partisan.  Today, that number has changed. Democrats have lost 2% and NPAs are up to almost 33%.  Republicans are picking up a little steam as well and are now approaching 28%.  If the trend lines hold steady, by the time of the election next November, Democrats may be down another 2 to 3% and NPAs and Republicans still climbing.

But wait, there’s more.  A wave of anti-Semitism, the attacks on Israel, and the revelation of deep pro-Palestinian sentiment within the Democratic Party are causing Jewish Democrats up and down the East Coast to re-think their partisan affiliation.  Gutmann is making this case with a new mailer this week targeting Jewish Democrats in the district.  The headliner reads “This isn’t FDR’s party anymore…” and features images of a couple of members of the Congressional Palestinian squad.

Earlier this week, members of the progressive “Squad,” including Rep. Rashida Tlaib. all voted against a resolution in support of Israel.

The measure passed by a vote margin of 412-10.
