Carlos Gimenez
Although much of America talks about the war in Israel and the new Speaker of the House, there is still news from the border crisis. Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) discussed a recent incident in Key Largo (his district) of several Chinese nationals attempting to enter the United States by boat during an appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria.
On Tuesday, the Florida Highway Patrol assisted the Border Patrol in capturing seventeen Chinese nationals (eleven men, six women) and three Ecuadorian men near Key Largo, who had arrived by boat.
Rep. Gimenez called this another example of the Biden Administration's unwillingness to deal with the open border. In fact, he said, "It seems like everything that runs counter to American interests, it has really interested this administration to do that."
Moreover, Rep. Gimenez pointed out that China has established "a pretty big footprint in Central and South America," referencing their plans to build a spy base in Cuba and investments in infrastructure projects in the Bahamas.
"So why are these Chinese nationals trying to get into the United States? What are they doing here, what is their purpose? They are all mostly military-age men, so what exactly is that they want to do? And I am sure that maybe some of them are here for economic reasons, but I am sure some of them are here for more nefarious purposes," Gimenez continued.
Host Maria Bartiromo asked if people in China wanting to travel abroad must request permission from the government, which Gimenez affirmed, adding that President Xi Jinping must have a hand in sending so many of his people to the United States.
"Xi is up to no good. That is what he is up to," said Gimenez, "Do not believe that Xi Jinping is our friend. He is our number one adversary in the world; he wants China to become the greatest economic and military power by 2049, and I think he is well on his way," he warned.
In September, Gimenez blasted the Biden Administration as "kowtowing to the Chinese" when news first broke of Chinese spies taking advantage of the ongoing border crisis.
