President Donald Trump (R) has come out in defense of early voting and voting by mail. After the conclusion of the 2020 election, both early voting and voting by mail were at the forefront of national discussion. Republicans were skeptical of both. However, President Trump has now come out in defense of the two, and Florida Republicans are welcoming the call.

President Trump has released a video, calling on voters to “bank your vote” by either early voting or voting by mail. Trump follows Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) in making the call. It was in the 2022 election that Governor DeSantis won the early vote because of both early voting and voting by mail.

In the video, President Trump slammed Democrats, saying that “for too long radical Democrats have abused and taken advantage of absentee and early voting laws to build a big lead over Republicans before election day.” Trump added that “while Republicans have worked to share our beautiful values with voters, Democrats and dangerous groups funded by the far Left have simply focused on collecting ballots.”

Although he laments that Republicans might not be in favor of the system at hand, President Trump is now calling on his supporters “to master the rules and beat the Democrats at their own game.” What this entails is that “Republicans must get tougher and fight harder to cast our votes.”

Christian Ziegler (R), the Florida Republican Party Chairman, also weighed in on the subject, saying that he opts to “vote on Election Day.” However, Ziegler said that him and his wife “always request our vote by mail ballot,” adding that they “fill it out, and put it in our desk drawer just in case one of us has to unexpectedly go out of town.”

President Trump’s video comes at a time when Republican support is surging in Florida, and with 3 presidential hopefuls hailing from Florida, the Republican primary is sure to be an engrossing event for voters.
