Suarez Downplays Biden Impeachment Efforts

Share

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez (R) came out swinging this week in an interview with CNN. The longshot presidential candidate is hoping to amass as much support as possible as he faces low polling numbers. During a heated interview, Mayor Suarez attempted to set the record straight regarding efforts to impeach President Joe Biden (D). When asked about impeachment efforts from Republicans, Mayor Suarez downplayed them.

Since the election of President Biden, the discussion of Biden getting impeached has been on the table. Calls for impeachment have grown stronger since shady business dealings involving Hunter Biden have come to light.

As Republicans gear up to discuss impeachment efforts, Mayor Suarez commented that traveling across the country for his presidential run has shown him that Americans are focused on other concerns.

“As I travel the country, what people are talking about is not impeachment… people are talking about the fact that they’re starting school, and that inflation is out-of-control and making it harder for them to be able to make ends meet,” Suarez clarified.

“They’re talking about the fact that 300 people die on average every day from fentanyl overdoses,” Suarez added, commenting that “they’re talking about the fact that homelessness and crime are rampant in their cities.”

Suarez concluded that “these are the issues people are talking about.”

Since announcing his presidential run, Suarez has struggled in the polls, and a new 2024 FiveThirtyEight poll indicates that Suarez is polling at 0.0%.

Despite the low polling numbers, Suarez has maintained that his campaign is going full steam ahead towards the White House.

Suarez has also received pushback from prominent Republicans such as Florida Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R). Still, Suarez has not commented on criticism from those within his party. Instead, he has presented himself as a younger candidate that can bridge the gap between polarizing parties.
