Gimenez Sounds Alarm on Illegal Chinese Bio Lab Found in California

Share

An illegal biomedical laboratory supposedly tied to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was found in Reedley, California, filled with medical waste, disease-carrying mice, and samples of various illnesses, including COVID-19. Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FLappeared on Fox and Friends to discuss while speculating on the lab's purpose.

While Rep. Gimenez noted details are currently unknown, "It poses a threat to the people of California and the United States."

Host Will Cain inquired about how biomedical labs are regulated. Rep. Gimenez answered that laboratories must receive a license from the state and follow the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines. However, he called the lack of oversight "the norm" for Chinese-backed companies.

"That is the norm for Chinese-linked companies. They will cut corners, and they will not play by the rules. And this is just another example of that. Not only are they not playing by the rules, those companies that operate here in the United States but around the world, the Chinese-linked companies, because they are tied to the CCP, just do not play by the rules to get an advantage. Whatever advantage they can get, they will try to get," said Gimenez.

Cain then asked if the lack of oversight and corner-cutting was simple sloppiness "or more nefarious" and intentional in order to infect the United States on purpose.

"That is a great question," answered Gimenez, "And that is something that needs to be found out. What is it that they were doing, and why were they doing it there? And what kind of a threat it poses to, again, the people of California and then the people of the United States? It is no secret that they tried to hide for a long time that the Wuhan lab was not the cause of COVID-19 when in fact it all probability, 99%, it was."

In May, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) released a 328-page report of circumstantial evidence suggesting the COVID-19 virus came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Sen. Rubio did not imply the release was intentional but did say the CCP's ambitions outweighed their caution.

According to the Washington Examiner, Universal/Prestige Biotech, which owned the illegal Reedley lab, applied in March to operate in a warehouse near the Fresno Yosemite International Airport and Fresno Air National Guard Base.

"So what are they doing there? And what are they testing for and what kind of threat does it pose, again, to the people of that area and eventually to the people of the United States? That is something we have to find out," Gimenez concluded.
