Darren Soto Once Again In Sights of NRCC on Gas Prices

nrcc09The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC)  announced a targeted nationwide billboard and digital advertising campaign that includes US Rep. Darren Soto (D-FL), once again attempting to hold his record accountable.  This time for allegedly supporting skyrocketing gas prices.

The campaign will consist of billboards and digital advertising, which will be placed in close proximity to gas stations in his district.  The announcement comes as the AAA average nears $4 a gallon.

The strategy is telling of how Republicans plan to attack what they consider "vulnerable" Democrats in the 2024 election season, Rep, Soto being one of them.

"Rising gas prices are a fresh gut punch to millions of Americans already struggling under Bidenomics," said NRCC Communications Director Jack Pandol. "Every trip to the pump is a reminder that extreme House Democrats put their radical war on American energy ahead of working families’ wallets."

Soto has been the target of the NRCC in the past as well, specifically for this upcoming election cycle.  The NRCC accused Soto of neglecting America's military veterans, as he controversially voted on a veteran healthcare bill earlier this year.

“Soto has betrayed veterans and active duty troops. Soto votes the extreme Democrat party line even when that means targeting the health care and benefits veterans earned serving our country in uniform — or blocking pay raises for active duty troops.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Delanie Bomar stated in regard to Soto this year.

As 2024 swiftly approaches, Republicans will attempt to remind Americans that the economic status of America is in nothing but decline.  However, with some prospects showing a positive outlook for the nation's economic standing, it is unclear if Soto will end up paying the price in the ballot box for the failures often accredited to the Biden Administration.
