Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) appeared on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria to discuss his recent hearing with the House Select Committee on China and how the Biden Administration's actions make the United States look weak to the Chinese.

During the China Committee's hearing with Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Kritenbrink, Rep. Gimenez questioned why the United States seemed to be the only one asking for meetings with senior officials such as Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. China has not asked to hold meetings with its senior officials, which makes us "look very, very weak," as Rep. Gimenez described.

"When was the last time the Chinese asked us for a high-level meeting? And [Kritenbrink] answered that they had agreed to come over after we asked them to come over. So it is pitiful, and he just refused to answer that question. The answer is that he cannot remember the last time the Chinese asked us for a high-level meeting. We continue to grovel at the Chinese asking for meetings with them. Yellen, Blinken, etcetera. 'Please, please have those meetings with us,' and yeah, it makes us look very, very weak," said Gimenez.

The conversation shifted to American tech firms' investment in Chinese companies, including artificial intelligence (AI) development. Host Maria Bartiromo said that "the tone is set from the White House" on how corporate America interacts with China, asking if the current "tone" is a potential result of President Biden potentially being compromised.

Gimenez answered that he believed Biden is compromised, similar to claims made by Representative Mario Diaz Balart (R-FL) in June. Additionally, Gimenez began speaking about the ongoing investigations into Joe and Hunter Biden, saying that despite Democrats' denial, "there is a lot of smoke coming from the White House."

"I do believe that this President is compromised, and the Democrats can yell and scream all they want about, 'gee, there is nothing there.' Yeah, well, there is something there. There is a lot of smoke coming out of that White House right now. We need to keep investigating," Gimenez concluded.
