Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) sat down for an exclusive interview with The Floridian publisher Javier Manjarres to discuss the imminent impeachment proceedings surrounding President Joe Biden (D).
Congressman Donalds reiterates the notion that Democrats did not have clear evidence to impeach former President Donald Trump (twice).
“The Constitution is very clear: high crimes and misdemeanors. What was the high crime? Oh, he talked to Volodymyr Zelenskyy about ‘hey, I’m hearing about this. Let me get information about what’s going on over there.’ The President never impounded funds and never withheld anything from Ukraine. They went and impeached him anyway, which was wrong. The evidence wasn’t there,” stated Rep. Donalds.

He would go on to mention the Democrats’ decision to impeach Trump over the Jan. 6 Capitol riot was “purely emotional.”
“Number two: You want to look at what happened after Jan. 6, again no hearings, no talk, no anything. They were mad – they did it. Purely emotional. It is what it is. And it’s unfortunate, actually to the contrary, I think, with respect to Joe Biden,” Donalds stated.
“We have documented now that his family has engaged in influence peddling. They’ve been making millions of dollars from overseas companies, and overseas countries. They funneled the money through multiple bank accounts, and multiple shell companies to conceal the money from the American people. This is a legitimate enterprise of lobbying on behalf of foreign governments.”
Donalds further questioned the apparent double standard concerning members of the Biden family receiving a “slap on the wrist” compared to the likes of Paul Manafort, who was incarcerated for “being an unregistered foreign agent.”
“How come nobody in the [Biden] family is a registered foreign agent? I don’t know if people remember this guy named Paul Manafort, they threw him in jail for being an unregistered foreign agent. Well, what’s going on with Hunter Biden and Jim Biden? Oh, my fault, they just gave Hunter a slap on the wrist that nobody else in America could have gotten, by the way. But we move on.”
The Florida Congressman included that he believes that the Biden family is partaking in a pay-for-play scandal.
“Now, you mean to the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) is now saying that Hunter Biden didn’t pay taxes on $1.2 million in earnings over a two-year period?...Where’d the money come from? This actually coincides with the same time period money’s coming from Burisma through like 10 or 12 accounts. This is a pay-for-play scandal. It is public corruption.”
In the end, Donalds would state, “If that’s not an impeachable offense, I don’t know what is.”
