The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has arrested a registered sexual predator for voter fraud.
FDLE’s Election Crime Unit arrested Louis Palmieri, 77, of Melbourne for false affirmation in connection with an election and voting by an unqualified elector, both third-degree felonies, according to a press release from FDLE.
"Investigators say Palmieri voted in the November 2020 election after signing paperwork claiming he was eligible to vote. Palmieri is on Florida’s Sex Offender Registry following a 2003 lewd and lascivious conviction on a child under 16 from St. Lucie County," according to FDLE. "Palmieri was arrested yesterday and booked into the Brevard County Jail. The case was referred by the Florida Department of State, Office of Election Crimes and Security and will be prosecuted by Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Office of Statewide Prosecution."
A little over two months before the 2022 Election, Governor Ron DeSantis came to Broward County and announced the arrest of 20 illegal voters.
“All 20 of these individuals were disqualified from voting after they were convicted of murder or a felony sexual offense, but they chose to vote anyway, and now they have all been charged with voter fraud — a third-degree felony punishable by up to a $5,000 fine and up to 5 years in prison,” stated a press release.
