Florida Congressional Representatives Honor Memorial Day

Share

Today marks Memorial Day, honoring our troops who have fallen in the defense of this nation. Florida's Representatives in Congress unite to pay tribute to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Representative Cory Mills (R-FL), a veteran himself, stated "On Memorial Day, we honor & remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. Their selflessness & courage secured the freedoms we cherish today.  May we never forget their contributions & the debt we owe them. Freedom is not free & we shall never forget the cost."

Fellow veteran Representative Mike Waltz (R-FL) personalized his acknowledgement of Memorial Day, honoring the men who served in the Green Berets with him.

"On this Memorial Day, I remember my fellow Green Berets from my unit that didn’t make it home," said Rep. Waltz.

Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) similarly described how he honored the brothers-in-arms he lost, wearing "four different metal cuffs on my wrists engraved with the names of my fallen brothers," adding "They’re a reminder every day of the true cost of our freedom."

"Everyday, I wear four different metal cuffs on my wrists engraved with the names of my fallen brothers. They’re a reminder every day of the true cost of our freedom. Today, take a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice," Rep. Mast stated.

Representative Greg Steube (R-FL), another veteran, reminded Congressional District 17, "We are privileged to live in the land of free, because of the brave."

"Today we honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms. We are privileged to live in the land of free, because of the brave. Happy Memorial Day, FL-17!" said Rep. Steube.

Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) said "On this #MemorialDay, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their selflessness and courage will never be forgotten."

Similarly, Representative Jared Moskowitz visited Arlington National Cemetery, saying "Today we honor the memory of all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country and our freedoms. Your service will never be forgotten. #MemorialDay."

"On Memorial Day, we honor the heroic Americans who served our nation and lost their lives in the line of duty. Their ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten," said Representative Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL).

And we at The Floridian do the same.
