It’s on! Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has filed the necessary FEC paperwork to run for President of the United States in 2024, and has now announced his run on Twitter Spaces with Elon Musk.
The much anticipated Twitter Spaces announcement with Elon Musk was initially a bust, as the Twitter servers appear to have crashed as result of the amount of people tuning in to hear Gov. DeSantis speak, make his official announcement.
But just as the Twitter Space announcement was suppose to start at 6 pm, Gov. DeSantis tweeted his narrated announcement campaign ad.
“I’m running for president to lead our Great American Comeback,” tweeted Gov.DeSantis.
“Our border is a disaster. Crime infests our cities, the federal government makes it harder for families to make ends meet, and the president flounders,” said Gov. DeSantis

Musk and others quickly pivoted and started another Twitter Space with a different, less-followed account to prevent another crash.
The new Twitter Space happened without a glitch, and the several pro-DeSantis speaker were able to offer up the former college baseball player several softball questions.
President Joe Biden couldn’t’ resist the Twitter crash, tweeting, “This link works.”
DeSantis began his announcement with a scripted message, and then answered the questions that followed with substance and details, substance he has used in his messaging dozens of times.
DeSantis’s answer were informative and necessary for potential voters to understand his reasoning and mindset.
During the announcement, former President Donald Trump sent out several emails bashing DeSantis over his past votes, directing his messaging directly to voters in Iowa and New Hampshire.
“Polling shows President Trump has a commanding lead over DeSantis in Iowa, with President Trump leading DeSantis by 34 points. Not only is President Trump dominating DeSantis in Iowa, but he also leads by 38 points among GOP primary voters nationally,” stated Trump’s press release.
