The 118th Congress largely ran on countering the Biden Administration, but some members want impeachment. Now, U.S. Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) is joining U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) in filing Articles of Impeachment against President Biden (D).
Representative Mills has a long history of criticizing the Biden Administration. The freshman congressman has suggested launching investigations into the president regarding misplacing classified documents. Mills has also called for Secretary Mayorkas (D) to resign.
Today, Mills has announced that he will be joining the effort to impeach the president, for the alleged, "endangerment of American citizens," in the context of the ongoing Border Crisis.
Mills was especially outspoken on the issue of the Border Crisis during his campaign as he visited the Southern Border in person. Mills called the Border Crisis a, "a humanitarian crisis," adding, "this is a child sex trafficking crisis, this is a fentanyl and American overdose and poisoning crisis. This is something we must address. We must secure our borders, we must maintain Title 42, we must defund sanctuary cities, and we must do what's needed for immigration reform to make sure that we keep America's sovereignty and put the American people's lives first."
Representative Greene mentioned the risks of Biden's border policies and that they endanger not only Americans, but the illegal aliens that are crossing the Mexican border. Mills called it an, "honor," to join impeachment efforts against Joe Biden.
"Honored to join my colleague [Marjorie Taylor Greene] in cosponsoring these much needed Articles of Impeachment for the willful dereliction of duty and endangerment of American citizens." Mills added, "Americans deserve accountability and this 118th Congress will work to provide that."
The Republican controlled House of Representatives is likely to be receptive to the Articles of Impeachment, but may not be successful among the likes of the GOP's more moderate members.
