After speculation was made that several members of Florida's Republican congressional delegation might entertain the possibility of endorsing Gov. Ron DeSantis over former President Donald Trump, Rep. Greg Steube left little doubt about who he would be supporting in the 2024 Republican presidential primary contest.
“Today I continue my unwavering support for the America First movement by endorsing the leader of our party, President Donald Trump for re-election to President of the United States,” said U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.). “President Trump’s first term was full of extraordinary accomplishments. Floridians need him back in the White House to finish the job. No one will drain the corrupt swamp like President Trump. He loves our country and is a proven fighter for our Veterans, Second Amendment Rights, and Border Security. Let’s make America strong, safe, and great once again," stated Rep. Steube

Rep. Steube, who doesn't really know Gov. DeSantis, was said to have been on a short list of members that Gov. DeSantis presidential campaign staff had targeted to arraign a telephone call with. The Floridian was made aware that several of the members on that list would take DeSantis's call, but that their minds were already made up for President Trump.
Rep. Steube joins fellow Floridians, Reps. Byron Donalds, Matt Gaetz, Anna Paulina Luna, and Cory Mills. House Freedom Caucus founder Rep. Jim Jordan has already endorsed Trump, and Senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott are believed to be close to endorsing the former president over DeSantis.
