As we get closer to May and Governor Ron DeSantis' (R) potential (it's happening) announcement to run for President, attacks from former President Donald Trump or pro-Trump figures will continue to escalate.

A pro-Trump political action committee (PAC) released an attack ad against Gov. DeSantis that parodied the allegation that he once ate a pudding cup with three fingers instead of a spoon.

The ad features a man sitting at a table while a voiceover says, "Ron DeSantis loves sticking his fingers where they don't belong, and we're not just talking about pudding," followed by a mock-dramatic shot of the man plunging three fingers into a chocolate pudding cup, complete with background music suitable for a thriller film.

"DeSantis has his dirty fingers all over senior entitlements, slashing Social Security, even raising our retirement age to 70!" the ad continues, citing an article by Business Insider. The article details how then-Congressman DeSantis heavily embraced partially privatizing Medicare and Social Security to create a balanced federal budget in four years.

Additional citations include several roll call votes, including House Vote 138 on March 25th, 2015, House Vote 175 from April 1oth, 2014, and House Vote 86 dated March 21st, 2013, all of which show DeSantis voting in favor of those measures described in the ad.

In February, President Trump stated on Truth Social that "Ron DeSanctimonious wants to cut your Social Security and Medicare," likely referencing these past votes. Trump also called DeSantis "a RINO (Republican In Name Only) in disguise."

In March, DeSantis rescinded his early support of cutting Medicare and Social Security, "We're not going to mess with Social Security as Republicans, and I think that's pretty clear."

The ad then concludes with a message, "Tell Ron DeSantis to keep his pudding fingers off our money... oh, and can somebody get this man a spoon?"

You may want to grab your spoon too because the Trump-DeSantis rivalry is getting good.
