Florida Democrat Chairwoman Nikki Fried came to Broward County yesterday and claimed Governor Ron DeSantis took a joy ride in his helicopter around pro-abortion demonstrators after signing the Heartbeat Protection Act to rub the victory in their faces.
"Last week he had the audacity. The cowardice. To fly into the state in the dark of the night to sign a six-week abortion ban," Fried said at a press conference at Broward Democrat Headquarters in Plantation.
Fried, who was arrested along with Senate Democrat Leader Lauren Book protesting against the new law which limits abortions to six weeks after conception except in the cases of rape, incest or human trafficking, claimed DeSantis took a ride in his helicopter after signing the law to taunt the protestors.
"I want to tell you another story. After he got done he took his helicopter and flew his helicopter three times around the individuals who had been sleeping outside at Occupy Tallahassee to shove it in their face," Fried said at the presser which was billed as Democrats "calling out Governor Ron DeSantis for campaigning for campaigning outside of the state and fighting with Disney while South Floridians suffer from catastrophic flooding and gas shortages."
"It seems the Florida Democrats now regularly fabricate their angles of attack," DeSantis spokesman Bryan Griffin told The Floridian.
Fried offered no other evidence as to how she knew it was the Governor's helicopter. The Floridian has reached out to her for further comment but has not heard back. She could not be reached for comment.
The Floridian has not been able to confirm if DeSantis routinely flys around in a personal aircraft or any other Unidentified Flying Object (UFO).
