Florida International University has racked in yet another award.  The FIU Small Business Development Center (FSBDC) at FIU Business has won the Small Business Development Center for Excellence and Innovation Center Award.

The award was issued from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The award recognizes the accomplishments of one center each year.

FIU will be presented with the award in Washington D.C. during National Small Business Week and the SBA will celebrate the center's contribution to the economy.  The FSBDC at FIU Business comprises 20 highly knowledgeable business consultants who offer assistance with access to capital, investment business plans, financial management, government contracting, market analysis and more.

In 2022 the FSBDC was able to launch 114 businesses, create $117 million in secured capital, secured $33.3 million in government contracts, $154.1 million in increased revenues, created over 400 jobs, and helped retain over 5,000 jobs.

Florida International University has recently made plenty of pushes to become a nationally renowned university.  Just last month the school's College of Public Health and Social Work ranked 15th nationally.  The school has also ranked in the national top 10 universities in terms of affordability.
