The 2024 Republican Presidential primary race could turn out to be contentious for former President Donald Trump if Governor Ron DeSantis (FL) enters the contest.

Does President Trump have a significant foreign policy advantage over Gov. DeSantis, if the two men face off in the 2024 GOP presidential contest?

In 2015, The Floridian  Publisher Javier Manjarres interviewed then-candidate, Donald Trump, asking him what he would do if elected President in 2016.

Focusing on foreign policy, one of the first things then-candidate Trump described doing economically would be to "bring back the jobs from China."

"Well, I'd bring back the jobs from China, from Japan, from all these countries that are just ripping us left and right. Now Mexico is another one that's taking tremendous numbers of jobs. But really, there's not a country that we do business with where we're on the positive end, we're losing with everybody, China being the number one abuser," said Trump.

Additionally, Trump affirms that he would lower tax rates, saying that "we're the highest-taxed nation in the land."

"We're the highest-taxed nation in the land, and there's no reason for it. And there's such waste, and such abuse, and such fraud. So we're the highest-taxed in the world, that won't happen under a Trump presidency," he promised.

Mission Accomplished. Trump slashed corporate and middle-class taxes.

With the U.S. economy having benefitted from lowered taxes such as through the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act during his tenure in office, President Trump can say he put America back on top economically.

In addition, the United States is becoming aware of how thorough Chinese espionage has infiltrated society, from social media all the way to the Federal Reserve, and possibly influence peddling conducted by Hunter Biden with China through his Bohai Harvest firm, and the now-infamous China spy balloon incident.

Regarding the battle against the Islamic State which was at the peak of its power in 2015, Trump said that "I would have such a strong military."

"I would have such a strong military. Such a powerful military that nobody would mess with us. We're letting our military down, we're letting our vets down, we're letting everybody down," added Trump.

Under Trump, ISIS was effectively eradicated, and no enemy or adversary of the United States, especially Russia, willingly acted aggressively.

Since Biden took office, Russia invaded Ukraine a second time, the U.S. military became politicized, and inflation continues to rise, compromising the U.S. economy.
