Republicans Take Victory lap After Jacksonville Election Results

Share

Republicans are celebrating the results of the City of Jacksonville mayoral and city council races,  where they were able to push Democrats to the May election.

“We flipped Duval in 2022 and tonight we outhustled and outperformed Democrats in that same county. Democrat despair and Republican momentum continue in Duval, but we’re not done yet. The Republican Party looks forward to finishing the job in May,” stated Christian Ziegler, Florida GOP Chairman

Of the nine city council seats, eight were contested this election cycle.

Mayor’s Race

Daniel Davis (R), the early favorite to win the race, fell short to Donna Deegan by a whopping 39%-25% margin.

Because Deegan (D) couldn’t reach the necessary vote totals to be declared the winner, she and Davis now head to the May 16 election. Al Ferraro came in third with 10% of the vote.
